Well, Hello World — Here is My Cost of Light
The Genesis of a Writer and Healer
When I was seven years old, I truly believed God told me I was going to be a writer. I loved creating worlds, weaving lives together, and pulling people into emotion. But as I grew older, the technical rules of grammar became a barrier—a "kryptonite" that threatened to bury my dream.
Ironically, it wasn't until I studied French that the rhythm and nuance of language finally opened up to me. I began to understand that writing isn’t just about rules; it’s about breathing life into truth.
Still, the dream got buried. I dropped out of college and joined the Navy, lost and trying to figure out who I was. Somewhere in that space, I fell in love with psychology and science. I wanted to help children heal, and I pursued degrees in Psychology and Biology. I ended up dedicating over twenty years to education, helping shape young minds in classrooms across the country.
The Calling: From Structure to Sanctuary
I thought I would be a science teacher forever. But in one swift moment, that chapter ended. A long, established career that I loved reached an unexpected and abrupt conclusion. That sudden end to everything I thought I was became the universe's way of saying: The structure you built must now become the sanctuary you crave.
Almost ten years ago, a student said, "You should live your dreams." Those words stuck to me. As I navigated my Master's and PhD program, I thought I was doing exactly that—building my foundation. But through all the striving, a voice kept whispering: "Remember your calling."
So here I am—no longer chasing classrooms, but chasing God's classroom.
The RaiStone Legacy: Authentic Program Design
I'm writing again, and I'm building RaiStone Retreats—safe, soulful sanctuaries for women and couples to breathe, release, and rise. My personal life—as a Christian, a dedicated reader, and a mother and grandmother of a large blended family—grounds this mission. My love for water and mindful practices ensures every experience is one of deep restoration.
And today, I can finally say it: I am a published author.
My first book, The Cost of Light, is the foundation of the RaiStone Methodology—the blueprint for turning trauma into purpose. It’s raw. It’s honest. It’s me. It will come to you in three parts as I unwind my life, my family’s legacy, and the long road from trauma to truth.
Your Invitation
This is more than a book; it’s an offering—a prayer on paper.
When you purchase The Cost of Light, 10% of every sale goes to the RaiStone Wellness Foundation, created in honor of my sister, Lisa—the Heart of our family. Her life and light fuel every woman I serve.
I hope my story does more than entertain you. I hope it transforms you—and gives you permission to stand in your own light.
So here I am, world. Not perfect. Not polished. Just me—raw, real, and finally ready.

Well, hello world.
Here is The Cost of Light.
